Volunteering is at the heart of The Arts Society
Volunteering gives members an opportunity to learn new skills, make friends with similar interests and feel the satisfaction of supporting the arts within their local community.
Our volunteers enjoy working in small groups whilst learning new skills and making a difference
Arts Volunteering is widely supported within our societies and by the Area team. For more information, please select 'Arts Volunteering' tab.
Heritage Volunteering is also widely supported across our Area with many long-term projects in stately homes and historic churches.
Church Inventories are carried out to record the contents of our churches in accordance with the guidelines laid out by The Art Loss Register. A record of the Church Inventories is maintained by Heritage Volunteering.
In 2018 The Arts Society ceased supporting Church Recording. This does not mean societies can no longer undertake this very important work however they now do it under the guidance of www.churchrecordingsociety.org
Trails of Discovery teams create wonderful trails in our churches, historic buildings, towns and villages - for children and the general public. For example: Memory trails for people living with dementia, Neigbourhood Trails, Branch Line Trails, Arts & Crafts Trails.
